RNLI Bridlington Lifeguards are all set up ready for what promises to be a busy year on the South Beach in Bridlington.
Just had a small break in proceedings and so we decided to have a constitutional along the sea front. Wish we’d taken a towel!
Of course no walk along Bridlington South Beach promenade is complete without an Ice Cream from Richies Cafe Bar on the Promenade. Must be the best Ice Cream for miles around but then the views onto the beach and beyond really help. He now has a magnificent 80’s music area and tonight he is planning on being packed out with football fans as Brazil take on the might of Germany in the World Cup Semi Final.
And then of course it came time to set off and we were accosted on our way back!! What, I hear you say? Well accosted is slightly harsh perhaps. There were two lovely young people on the promenade promoting safety on the Beach and in the sea and they had every right to as they were also promoting the RNLI Bridlington Lifeguards and the magnificent works that they do over summer keeping the tourists safe from harm in the seas.
We were extremely pleased to let these two people know that in January of this year we raised £400 for the RNLI Bridlington which will have provided a massive boost to the wonderful work that they do throughout the year for all of the people of the area whether they are holiday makers, fishermen or just find themselves in difficulty on the sea.
Then just a little further along the beach was Pamela Anderson, sorry, no it wasn’t it was two members of the RNLI Bridlington Lifeguard team keeping an eye on the young people who had just been in for a dip. Although it was a beautiful day there is still a need to be a hardy soul to take a dip in the sea – but it is wonderful – wish I’d taken a towell!
