Premier Inn Bridlington

August 4, 2014 By Tim & Fiona 30 Comments Local News, News, Royal News
Premier Inn Bridlington

Premier Inn are reportedly looking to open one of their chain of discount hotels in Bridlington.  The Royal Bridlington investigates the chances?

The argument for having a large hotel in Bridlington has been put together as part of the Bridlington Area Action Plan (AAP) which was developed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

It would appear that there is a possibility that the chain which may be the most interested in opening one of their franchise hotels in Bridlington is Premier Inn Bridlington.

The benefit which ERYC can see that will ensue from having a large hotel in the town is that the hotel will be able to service The Bridlington Spa when so that they will be able to hold larger events and multi day conferences.  At the moment ERYC are claiming that the number of really good quality guest houses and small hotels are unable to service a large conference as a result of the guests wishing to stay together in one location.

This is where the potential for a Premier Inn Bridlington comes in. The Premier Inn website itself claims that they are currently targetting Bridlington Esplanade as a potential site for development either as a standalone or joint site.  Indeed they are hoping to make the Premier Inn Bridlington into a 60 bedroom location.

Obvously there will be times when this type of property will be useful to the town, however, Bridlington is a traditional seaside resort and therefore, although the name of the Premier Inn Bridlington may attract many visitors it may also turn many off as a lot of visitors to the town like the traditional guest house and B&B scenario with a welcome greeting and the honely atmosphere.

Within the AAP the ERYC have stated that the new hotel would be able to achieve an 80% occupancy rate. This, in a seasonal resort will be difficult to achieve and my belief is that they will struggle in the winter period. But, best of luck to Premier Inn Bridlington and I look forward to the competition.

Bridlington would benefit greatly from a modern chain hotel, along with a marina.

Quite possibly so, however, as we mentioned, the big issue for any large chain hotel to invest is to get a steady return on their investment. For this they do need to maintain a steady high occupancy rate.

Sounds like a brilliant idea. Premier Inn are affordable quality hotels.

I stayed at Hull this Christmas Eve just so I could come to Bridlington on Christmas day. No one in Brid could offer £29 for each night with an onsite bar/lounge/restauant. and a lovely King size bed.

If their was one in Brid I would definitely visit more often. I am off to the new Premier in Cleethorpes in January

We hope that you enjoyed your experience of the Premier Inn. Perhaps next time you would prefer the individuality of a family run comfortable Guest House like The Royal Bridlington where we can provide a refreshing welcome and a stunning breakfast as well.
We look forward to welcoming you here soon.

Hello David, at present Premier Inn have not confirmed that they will or will not be opening a premises in Bridlington. There are already many Great Guest Houses and B&B’s in Bridlington where not only do you get a comfortable nights sleep but also a beautiful fresh breakfast as well all in the price agreed.

Don’t forget that when you book a Premier Inn – you are booking a room only rate and therefore need to add in Breakfast.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Royal Bridlington in the near future.

      Kind regards

It would be a good thing if premier inn did get into Bridlinton as it has just cost me £620 for 7 nights b&b and evening meal as i need a wheelchair adapted room and am on my own, it would cost me so much less, so i say yes to p/i in Bridlinton as was also hoping to go and see a few shows over the winter and don’t drive p/i would save me on accommodation prices. but maybe one day.

      Hello
Unfortunately at The Royal Bridlington we do not offer adapted rooms, however we do have ground floor rooms which are ideal for people with limited mobility. I do hope that you get to come to Bridlington and enjoy the Spa Bridlington theatre as it is a wonderful venue.

      Hello
Thanks for your question. The Premier Inn have, subject to planning, purchased a car park on the North side of Bridlington. It will still be many many months before any further movement though. In the meantime, The Royal Bridlington http://www.royalhotelbrid.co.uk offers exceptional value and great food and comfort. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Cialis is effective for 36 hours. Some girls are scared of it. After testing the drug my wife said that out of her own safety, she would not go to work the next day. But in fact, everything went just fine, I felt the long-term effect of Cialis from Cial male supplements, but the erection did not occur on its own, only after sexual stimulation.

This is a brilliant idea its about time these people should stop complaneing get there heads out of the sand or don’t they won’t people to have jobs is that all there bothered about a car park going if these councilors got there heads out of there. Arse. Don’t prevent progress these old one won’t be alive for ever young one are the future

There are a lot of variables to consider such as, does this development impact on the ability of the Spa to put on more multi day conferences? Will this development mean that some of the existing stock of guest houses need to close due to an over-supply of beds in the town. It is not as simple as new business means new jobs. For instance the rebuilt Leisure Centre is saying there are 40 New Jobs. What about those that were laid off when the old Leisure World was closed and demolished?

Thanks for your blunt comments though. They are much appreciated in the spirit of debate.

At Premier Inn prices and comfort I would happily go year round, for lots of one off nights or a couple of nights just to get away.

Thanks for your comments Jennie, I can entirely understand – however, before you book at a Premier Inn, beware that their rates are generally room only and Breakfast is on top. Their rates are not always cheap – only when they want them to be.Check out the local Guest Accommodations and Guest Houses as well – they will certainly be more homely and more competitive – and include Breakfast.
      Kind regards.

There will no doubt be a lot of work to do before the ground can be broken on the development. In the meantime there are many Great Guest Houses which provide equal if not a better standard of comfort and hospitality than a Premier Inn.

A Premier inn would be great location in Bridlington

    • August 2, 2016

      Tim & Fiona Reply

Premier Inns certainly have a lot of marketing power and therefore they may increase the number of visitors to Bridlington. However the location for the development needs to be carefully considered as to not displace the current high level of day visitors.

Many thanks for your comments Johnny.

We have stayed in Premier Inns and have eaten Breakfasts with them in their Pubs and also at the Wetherspoons. We still prefer the homely nature and excellent service with the freshly cooked breakfast of a Guest Accommodation like ourselves, The Royal Bridlington. 01262 672433.

We look forward to welcoming you here in Bridlington soon.

      Kind regards
