Bridlington Lobster Festival 2020 – Postponed to 2021
Unfortunately, as with many many events in 2020 the Lobster Seafood Festival in Bridlington is being postponed and will be much bigger and better in 2021.
Of course as you will imagine, the reason is Covid 19.
We at The Royal Bridlington hope that all of our guests old and new are staying safe. We look forward to the time when we can meet again after the Covid 19 Pandemic is over.
Best wishes to everyone.
So you think that Shediac in New Brunswick has a big reputation for Lobster? Well think again. Shediac does not actually land any Lobster, they make their living out of processing the Lobster and then shipping it on. Who needs a 90 tonne sculpture of a Lobster when you land more than that each year in reality!
Bridlington in East Yorkshire, UK lands the largest quantity of Lobster in the UK and in indeed in Europe. As such it has more of a right to be a Lobster Capital than Shediac.
This year in June 2020 on the 20th and 21st June Bridlington is holding its very own Lobster Festival. There will be many opportunities to see where the shell fish comes from and of course try many types of Seafood including Crabs, Whitby Scampi and of course traditional Fish and Chips.
There will be many stalls to see including cookery demonstrations, cheeses of Yorkshire, live music and entertainment and of course there will be a hospitality tent.
So make this a date in your diary. Catch the plane, catch the train but don’t miss out on catching the Festival!
The 2020 Seafood Festival will be focussed around the brand newly refurbished Garrison Square and the traditional harbour area. This area is being redeveloped to encourage more events and more tourists to come to Bridlington. Other attractions around the town include our fantastic theatre, The Spa Bridlington and Sewerby Hall and Gardens as well as a Bird of Prey and Animal Sanctuary and a Model Village.
Always plenty to see and do in Bridlington.
Why not make a weekend of it? Stay at The Royal Bridlington for only £168 B&B for the two nights and incorporate the beautiful Beaches, the Yorkshire Wolds and RSPB Bempton Cliffs and their Puffins.
See you there!
