This November and December The Royal Bridlington are embarking on providing a Dress Making Course with an internationally travelled and requested teacher, Celia Banks.
Celia Banks has been sewing for over 40 years and has sewing qualifications from both the UK and the USA. She holds Instructor and Associate Educator certificates awarded by the Palmer Pletsch School of Sewing in Portland, Oregon and is their lead tutor in the UK and Europe.
She loves providing dress making courses and techniques that enable people to produce well-fitting and well-made garments. Celia also specialises in the teaching of fitting procedures and couture techniques. She continues her professional development by studying each year with Claire Shaeffer in Palm Springs.
Celia Banks teaches a variety of workshops at the Knitting & Stitching Shows around the UK. Celia Banks also runs regular courses in the North West of England and teaches twice a year in Denmark.
Whilst at The Royal Bridlington Celia Banks will be providing two sessions in November and December 2014. This Dress Making Course will be in the following areas.
In November Celia Banks will be looking at: -
Getting to know and mastering your machine;
A masterclass in buttonholes and zips; and,
How to make and fit a skirt.
And then in December she will be providing a one day session in “Fearless Overlocking” and this will be followed by a two day Dress Making Course entitled “Fit For Fashion”.
